La Piazza’s owner, Carlo Barri has worked in the hospitality industry for 33 years and built a reputation for excellence and quality in customer service.

Carlo is a chef by trade, and did his apprenticeship here in Bendigo, after working locally Carlo then went on to travel through Europe, cooking in France and Italy to further enhance his experience, he came back to Bendigo and in 1986 Carlo opened, owned and operated "Maxine’s Restaurant" which he ran for 7 years until he gave the cooking away and started focusing on his passion for great wine.

Carlo then spent 14 great years managing the "Sandhurst Club", he looks back appreciatively believing that this is where his talent for delivering fine food and wine was honed.

Carlo opened La Piazza in December 2009, and is in his element meeting and greeting people, while providing the very best in local and Imported wines, as well as a quality Mediterranean influenced menu.
